The Platinum Card® Benefits Terms & Conditions
Welcome Credit
A benefit on the Platinum Card® issued by AMEX (MIDDLE EAST) B.S.C. (c) – Emirates (hereinafter ‘’AEME’’). If the Cardmember fulfills the Eligibility Criteria mentioned below, a credit of USD 250 on the Platinum Card billed in USD or AED 900 on the Platinum Card billed in AED, will be credited to the Basic Cardmember’s Statement of Account (hereinafter ‘’Welcome Credit’’).
Definitions:
"Cardmember" or “Basic Cardmember” – The person in whose name a Card is issued to charge Transactions (i.e. debtor on the Account).
"Purchase Transaction(s)" - Transaction(s) using the Platinum Card for the purchase of goods or services. This excludes fees, charges, charge backs, reversals, payment transactions, Cash Withdrawals, or any other transactions charged to the Card Account.
"Delinquent Cardmember" - Any Cardmember who is overdue on payment status by a minimum of 1 day from Payment Due Date.
"Statement of Account" - AEME's monthly or other periodic Statement of Account provided to the Cardmember showing particulars of the New Balance incurred by the Cardmember and the Supplementary Cardmember(s), if any, and payable to AEME.
Eligibility Criteria:
The Welcome Credit will only be credited to a Basic Cardmember’s Statement of Account based on the Cardmember meeting the following Eligibility Criteria:
In order to receive the Welcome Credit, the Cardmember must spend a minimum of USD 10,000 on Purchase Transactions on the Platinum Card® billed in USD or a minimum of AED 37,000 on Purchase Transactions on the Platinum Card® billed in AED, within 90 days of their Card issuance date.
Any Purchase Transactions that are subsequently re-credited to the Account because of reversals, cancellations, refunds or credit adjustments processed by AEME will not be calculated towards the Welcome Credit.
Cardmembers who have not paid their Annual Fee or whose Card Accounts are overdue, closed or terminated will not be eligible for the Welcome Credit. Cardmembers’ Card Account must be active and must not be in a delinquent status or blocked or cancelled status.
Employees or contractors of AEME are not eligible for the Welcome Credit benefit.
The Welcome Credit will be credited to the eligible Basic Cardmember’s Card Account within 2 months of meeting the Eligibility Criteria for the Welcome Credit benefit and will be communicated on the monthly Statement of Account sent by AEME to Basic Cardmember.
The sum total of Basic and Supplementary Cardmember Purchase Transactions will be combined into the Basic Cardmember’s Statement of Account, for the calculation of the Welcome Credit.
The Welcome Credit is only applicable once per Card Account.
General Conditions:
The Terms and Conditions governing the Welcome Credit benefit are in addition to and not in substitutions of the Cardmember Agreement. Any capitalised terms not defined herein shall have the same meaning given to such terms in the Cardmember Agreement.
AEME assumes no responsibility and liability in offering Welcome Credit under the Welcome Credit benefit.
AEME has the right to debit the amount of Welcome Credit earned by the Cardmember in case the Annual Membership Fee was reversed due to any other reason or Card is fraudulent and/or the Welcome Credit has been earned on transactions that were subsequently cancelled or reversed or declared void.
AEME reserves the right to change, alter, modify, amend, postpone any part(s) of the Welcome Credit benefit including but not limited to amending the spend threshold (as mentioned under Clause 1.1 above).
AEME reserves the right to discontinue the Welcome Credit benefit at any time.
AEME’s failure to enforce a particular Term or Condition does not constitute a waiver of that Term or Condition by AEME.
All questions or disputes regarding eligibility for Welcome Credit will be resolved by AEME.
Annual Travel Credit
Platinum Cardmembers are eligible for one Travel Credit of US$ 300 or equivalent value in local Currency where it’s applicable depending on product billing currency per year on annual Card fee renewal date. The Travel Credit can be redeemed against eligible airline bookings with a minimum cumulative value of US$ 3,000 or equivalent value in local Currency where it’s applicable depending on product billing currency when booking through your Platinum Travel Service.
The Travel Credit can only be redeemed through Platinum Travel Service at time of booking. The Travel Credit can be used for 365 days from date of issue and cannot be carried forward to any subsequent year. Only the Basic Cardmember is eligible for this benefit. Cardmembers are only able to redeem one Travel Credit per Card anniversary year. Bookings must be charged to the Cardmember on The Platinum Card® for the benefit to apply. The travel credit will appear on The Platinum Cardmember’s billing statement as “Annual Travel Credit”. Refunds may be permitted based on supplier cancellation policy. The amount refunded will be the value of the booking, less supplier fees and the Travel Credit where applicable contributed by American Express. If the supplier’s policy does not permit a refund on the booking, then the Travel Credit will not be refunded. Once a booking has been cancelled the Travel Credit for that year will be forfeited. Changes to bookings are permitted subject to supplier terms and conditions. Booking amendment fees may apply. Membership Rewards® points will not be earned on the Travel Credit. The Credit may not be used towards Cruises. The Credit may not be used towards Hotel and Car Hire bookings where payment is made directly to the supplier (i.e. FINE HOTELS+RESORTS®). The Travel Credit cannot be used towards Incidental air travel fees, mileage points purchases, mileage points transfer fees, gift cards, duty free purchases, and award tickets. Please allow 2 weeks after the travel booking is charged to your Platinum Card Account for the Travel Credit to be posted to your Account. To be eligible for this benefit, Cardmember must request or enroll for this benefit first, meet the eligibility criteria and Card Account status must be active and not delinquent at the time of statement credit fulfillment. Cardmembers remain responsible for timely payment of all charges. For additional information about this benefit, call Platinum Travel Service.
Airport Lounges from Priority Pass™
These Terms and Conditions govern The Platinum Card® participation in and use of the Priority Pass™ program. Priority Pass™ is an independent airport lounge access program. At any visit to a Priority Pass™ lounge that admits guests, you may bring in one guests for no charge. You will be charged the prevailing retail rate for any additional guests. Some lounges do not admit guests. By enrolling in Priority Pass™, you agree that you will be responsible for any additional accompanying guest visits and that your Card will be automatically charged after you have signed for the additional guest visit and it has been reported to Priority Pass™ by the participating lounge. Additionally, you acknowledge and agree that AMEX (Middle East) B.S.C. (c) will verify your Card account number and provide updated Card account information to Priority Pass™. Priority Pass™ will use this information to fulfill on the Priority Pass™ program and may use this information for marketing related to the program. Once enrolled, Platinum Cardmembers whose Card account is not cancelled may access participating Priority Pass™ lounges by presenting your Priority Pass™ card and airline boarding pass. In some lounges, Priority Pass™ member must be 21 years of age to enter without a parent or guardian. Priority Pass™ members must adhere to all house rules of participating lounges. Amenities may vary among airport lounge locations. Conference rooms, where available, may be reserved for a nominal fee. Priority Pass™ lounge partners and locations are subject to change. All Priority Pass™ members must adhere to the Priority Pass™ Conditions of Use, which will be sent to you with your membership package, and can be viewed at www.prioritypass.com. Upon receipt of your enrollment information, Priority Pass™ will send your Priority Pass™ card and membership package which you should receive within 4-6 weeks.
Delta Sky Club®
The Platinum Cardmember must present their valid American Express Card, government-issued I.D., and boarding pass to the Delta Sky Club ambassador. Boarding pass must show a reservation for a same-day Delta-operated flight (Delta or Delta connection) departing from or arriving at the airport in which the Delta Sky Club is located. Name on boarding pass must match name on the Card. Eligible Platinum Card Members on departing flights can only access the Delta Sky Club within 3 hours of their flight’s scheduled departure time. During a connection between Delta operated flights on the same ticket, you may use the Delta Sky Club in your connecting airport at any time during the layover. Delta reserves the right to limit access for non-revenue flyers at any Delta Sky Club. Additional Gold Cards and Additional Green Cards on Business Platinum accounts, and Additional Gold Cards on Consumer Platinum accounts, are not eligible for complimentary access through The Global Lounge Collection benefit. Access to Delta Sky Club partner lounges is not permitted. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age to access Delta Sky Club, and 21 years of age to access locations with a self-service bar, unless accompanied by a responsible, supervising adult who has access to the lounge. Eligible Card Members must adhere to all Delta Sky Club House Rules while accessing participating airport clubs. Participating airport clubs and locations subject to change without notice. Eligible Card Members may bring guests into the Delta Sky Club subject to the most current Delta Sky Club access and pricing policies, and must use their valid Card as the payment method for guest access. Guests also must be flying on a same-day Delta-operated flight. Guest access and fees subject to terms and conditions of participating airport clubs. Effective January 1, 2024: Eligible Platinum Cardmembers traveling on a same-day Delta-operated flight with Basic Economy (E) fare tickets will not have access to the Delta Sky Club or to Grab and Go.
International American Express Lounges
The Platinum Cardmembers have unlimited complimentary access to American Express Lounge locations. Additional Gold Cards and Additional Green Cards on your Platinum account are not eligible for complimentary access. Guest access policies vary by location and are subject to change. Fees may apply for additional guests. To access American Express Lounges, The Platinum Cardmember must present the agent with the following upon each visit: his or her valid Card and upon request, same-day airline ticket on any carrier and a government-issued I.D. Failure to present this documentation may result in access being denied. The Platinum Cardmember will not be compensated for changes in locations, rates or policies. American Express reserves the right to remove any person from a lounge for inappropriate behavior or failure to adhere to lounge rules, including, but not limited to, conduct that is disruptive, abusive or violent. Access is subject to space availability. Amenities, services and hours of operation may vary among locations and are subject to change. In some Lounges The Platinum Cardmember must be at least 18 years of age to enter without a parent or guardian. Age restrictions for the service of alcohol also vary between Lounges. American Express will not be liable for any articles lost or stolen or damages suffered by the purchaser or visitor inside American Express Lounges. Use of American Express Lounges is subject to the local rules and conditions set by American Express and the Lounge operator. The Centurion® Lounge
Platinum Cardmembers have unlimited complimentary access to all locations of The Centurion® Lounge. Gold Card and Green Card Additional Cards on your Platinum Card account are not eligible for complimentary access. Cardmembers may bring up to two (2) companions into The Centurion® Lounge. To access The Centurion® Lounge, the Card Member must present The Centurion® Lounge agent with the following upon each visit: his or her valid Card, a boarding pass showing a confirmed reservation for same-day travel on any carrier and a government issued I.D. Failure to present this documentation may result in access being denied. Cardmembers will not be compensated for changes in locations, rates or policies. A Cardmember must be at least 18 years of age to enter without a parent or legal guardian. For locations with a self-service bar, the Cardmember must be of legal drinking age in the location’s jurisdiction to enter without a parent or legal guardian. Must be of legal drinking age to consume alcoholic beverages. Please drink responsibly. American Express reserves the right to remove any person from the Lounge for inappropriate behavior or failure to adhere to rules, including, but not limited to, conduct that is disruptive, abusive or violent. FINE HOTELS + RESORTS®
Valid only for new Fine Hotels + Resorts bookings made through Platinum Travel Service, Payment must be made in full with The Platinum Card. Available for Platinum Charge Cardmembers and excludes Platinum Credit Cardmembers who are not also Platinum Charge Cardmembers. Cardmember must travel on itinerary booked to be eligible for benefits described. Noon check-in and room upgrade are based on availability and are provided at check-in. Breakfast amenity varies by property, but will be, at a minimum, a continental breakfast. Complimentary In-Room Wi-Fi is provided. In the case where a Property includes cost of Wi-Fi in a mandatory resort fee, the Cardmember will receive a daily credit from the Property in the standard amount that the Property charges for Wi-Fi. The credit will be issued on the Cardmembers final statement upon checkout. Benefit restrictions vary by Fine Hotels + Resorts® property and cannot be redeemed for cash, and may not be combined with other offers unless indicated. Advance reservations are recommended for services such as spa, dining or golf in order to take advantage of the Fine Hotels + Resorts® special amenity during your stay. Benefits are only applied at checkout and expire at checkout. Limit one benefit package per room, per stay. Three room limit per Cardmember, per stay; back-to-back stays within a 24-hour period at the same property considered one stay. Participating Fine Hotels + Resorts® properties and benefits are subject to change.
The Hotel Collection
Valid only for new The Hotel Collection bookings of two or more consecutive nights made through Platinum Travel Service. Payment must be made in full with The Platinum Card®. If you are a Platinum Supplementary Cardmember looking to book a hotel within The Hotel Collection programme, you can contact your Platinum Travel Service on the number mentioned at the back of your card. Cardmember must travel on itinerary booked to be eligible for benefits described. The Cardmember will receive the credit as a deduction from the final bill when checking out of the hotel; they receive $1 for each eligible dollar spent up to $100 USD. Eligible charges exclude charges for taxes, gratuities, fees and cost of the room. Additional exclusions based on specific hotel restrictions may also apply (including without limitation purchases within the hotels that are unaffiliated and/or owned by third parties) –see hotel front desk for details. Credit must be used in conjunction with initial stay and cannot be carried over to another stay, is not redeemable for cash and expires at check-out. Credit is non-exchangeable and nonrefundable and is applied in USD or equivalent in local currency based on exchange rate on day of arrival. A one category room upgrade is based on availability and eligibility at check-in to the hotel. Limit one credit per room, per stay. GHA DISCOVERY
This GHA DISCOVERY promotion is available to The Platinum Card® issued in the following markets: UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria (“Eligible Amex card holders”).
Eligible American Express Platinum Cardmembers are offered 1 (one) fast-track upgrade to GHA DISCOVERY Platinum status when joining GHA DISCOVERY through the relevant promotional links. American Express Platinum Cardmembers who held a membership in GHA DISCOVERY prior to applying for this promotion and whose status in GHA DISCOVERY was lower than the status offered through this promotion shall be able to claim promotion to the higher tier on the terms above without making a new enrolment.
American Express Platinum Cardmembers who received GHA DISCOVERY elite status through this promotion must present their GHA DISCOVERY digital card and their eligible American Express Platinum card at check-in to avail of member benefits and check-out when settling the accommodation payment or purchasing other spend opportunities at any GHA DISCOVERY hotel. Members will earn 10,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points at 40 eligible nights and 10,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points for every 10 additional eligible nights thereafter during a calendar year (January 1st through December 31st). Members will earn an additional 30,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points on their 60th eligible night per calendar year. These Hilton Honors Bonus Points are in addition to the 10,000 Milestone Bonus Points achieved at that night threshold.

Platinum Experiences
